well, my tranny is slipping again for the 2nd time

i'm planning to do a rebuild or a t56 swap. however, i dont have enough cash righ now, so i'm planning to do it in about a year or so. i know lucas stuff do not really work. i already have a tranny cooler right now, is there anything else that i should do to keep my tranny run for over a year from now.

ps- i already drive it like a grandma, so no more racing for me.

any suggestion? thanks

Well...you said it was slipping again?? Thats how mine started out before I lost 2nd completely and wouldnt engine break(not staying in gear) I would suggest holding off till the T56 swap right now!! I still dont have second gear and its been like that for the past year and a half. I just ordered all the parts for that and they are showing up one at a time!!

You could either ride it out or have someone rebuild it and make sure they put in the corvette pressure piston in there. (common problem with the 4L60E's)

Not alot of help but its something....

wow that sucked. i drove my Z very little, less than 10 miles a day. i'm really hoping that it hangs for another year or so, so i have enough money to swap to t56, which far more reliable IMO

Well it should last....I beat the hell outta mine for about a year and a half and still hasnt gone completely out!! So IMO it should last... I just beat it so I would have a good reason to do the T56 conversion...
