How is/was your experiance with the Spec stage 2/3 clutch

My experiance, as well as everyone I know is terrible. They just flat out havnt lasted, and they come apart throwing springs out.

Edit: my experience: http://community.webshots.com/album/356140671QRXNyK

That took only 2.5 years of easy driving to do. Not a daily driver though, and it had less than 15k miles. Always on street tires as well.

Also, include the time it was in the car, and the milage. I dont want a bunch of people who just installed them to post up great experiences when they havnt givin it time.

Who has run a spec clutch?

I have a thread in the drivetrain forum, but I know not many people visit there. I want as many people to vote, and share their experience with their Spec stage 2/3 clutch. I am one, of the many, that had a bad experience.

I will admit, the Spec > CF DF. That was the clutch I had in my previous car.

How many miles have you put on your stage 3?

I've used both the Stage 2 and STage 3.... they both broke and had problems the whole way. Waste of money.

My experience...so far so good with my Spec Stage 4 right now...I wouldnt even think about getting anything under a stage 4 since they have those STUPID springs..

Maybe 1000...but it feels better and grips better than the CF ever thought to...some pretty hard runs on it no probs...

Same thing happened to me. They offered me the stage 4 for $290 (half price), but I hear it isnt the best in traffic. Most of the time I drive my car, I will get caught in horrible traffic, sometimes for an hour or more. I cant have a chattering clutch. But at the same time, that street twin is really expensive

I voted nay I had a Spec II in my ride for about 5000 miles. It always chattered real bad in 1st and reverse, and never got any better. Car was almost undriveable and very embarrassing when I had to accelerate slowly in traffic, etc. Ended up getting a real clutch: McLeod ST 'cuz I knew the Spec would not be able to handle my 383.
