How to take out pedals?

I need someone to give me a run down for how to take out my pedals in a 6 speed car. Converting to auto and need to get everything out to sell. Thanks in advance. Jarred

Re: How to take out pedals?

I never took the M6 pedals out of my car, but judging from my experience in the A4->M6 swap, i'll run through it in reverse:

After taking the pedals for the auto out, i put the M6 pedals in by unbolting the clutch pedal from the bracket and setting it aside, then twisting (fighting) the remainder of the assembly over the steering shaft (which i did NOT take out) until it fell into place. From there i just bolted the clutch pedal back on the bracket and then bolted the whole thing down. Hence, i recommend unbolting the clutch pedal from the bracket, taking it out, unbolt the rest of the bracket from the firewall (3 bolts/screws i think) then twist it out over the steering shaft (towards the passenger side of the car). It won't be very easy, but it's much better than taking the steering shaft out.

It's a tight fit in there and you'll have to lay in the floorboard somehow to see up in there and reach the bolt. It took me about an hour to do this... but mind you that was with a lot of time thinking about how to get the damn thing in without removing the steering shaft. It might take you less time than that since you can just jump in there and work on it. HTHs

Re: How to take out pedals?

Its pretty simple. Disconnect throttle, clutch and brake linkage. Theirs 2 bolts by the gas pedal, then the 4 that hold in the power booster, then 2 by the slave cylinder, then the high one thats a huge PITA i think. Its easyer if you drop the steering column, not take it out but drop it afew inches.
