How to take down torque arm?
How to take down torque arm?
I took the two back nuts off. Now I'm looking for the front bolts, and I can't tell which ones they are. I looked in the repair manual, and it shows three bolts to remove, but when I look at my car, I don't see those bolts. I already took off these two bolts that hold up an exhaust mount and I took the exhuast mount down.
Someone please tell me how to get this torque arm down!
Also, I took the 4 bolts out of the rear of the driveshaft. I assumed the driveshaft would just fall after the removal of these bolts. It didn't. how do I remove it? Do I have to beat on it or something?

Re: How to take down torque arm?
The front of the torque arm mounts in a "clam shell" bushing. Unbolt the top of the clam shell and then pull the top apart, the bolts are there you just have to look. You said you removed the 2 nuts from the back of the torque arm, you also need to remove the 2 long bolts. Jack the body up to provide clearance for the bolts to pull up through the top.
As for the driveshaft, push it forward into the tranny, then it will clear the rear yoke; lower the rear of the driveshaft and pull it out the back. It's common for tranny fluid to come out the tranny tail; you might want to drain the fluid first.
