How to store a 10-bolt?

alreight have a 10 bolt with no fluid in it. Whats a good way to keep the diff and other parts from rusting up, it already looks like the ABS reluctor ring has a little rust on it.

Put it in a dumpster where it belongs

Just messin' around...

I would think WD40 would work, since it displaces water and won't really harm anything.

Actually WD-40 is designed as a solvent that displaces water, thus preventing rust.

I love WD40 for alot of things but I think it just won't last as long, better then nothing but not better then some.

I want to hold onto a 10-bolt for awhile longer before I decide to get rid of it.
