How much to rebuild 4L60E?

Im trying to find out an idea of how much it would cost to get a 4L60E rebuilt? I understand that bullet proof isnt really possible but it would need to hold up to a decent amount of horsepower and also have a 3500 stall.

If you have had yours rebuilt, how much did you pay and what was done to it?

Thanks in advance,
Rich

$1450 for the top of the line Trans from CPT, check out the website, probably the closest your gonna get to bullet proof,11.0 on a 4L60E and its still running 2years after

I second the vote for CPT!!! I didn't go all out but I got the Race Rebuild and that is $1000. check the link above and in my sig!

Great trans, and I went with 3500 stall also, I wouldn't recommend it for 2.73's unless you have a lot of power I still have 2.73 gears, hope to have 3.73's by mid-next season, but I didn't want to pull the trans again to do the stall then! But, playing with a little too much stall is better then not enough, I guess! Hope to take it to the track soon to see before and after results from the converter.

Hey 94Zpower, on the website it says a price plus hard parts? I have no idea about transmissions so to me that doesnt mean much? With your was that the total cost to you? Also, if I wanted a 3500 stall would I purchase it and bring it to them with the trans or do they purchase, install and then add that to the total price of 1450? Im trying to find out a total cost for it. 1450 seems really low if it included the stall?

Again thanks,
Rich

Rich,

that price dosent include the stall anmd if you order one you will install it when you put the trans back on the car so there is no need to bring it to CPT,
The hard parts are things that usually dont break or have to be replaced but he mentions them just incase they need to be replaced and so that you know that they are not included in the rebuild that he will be doing for you.

Give Frank a call he is a cool guy and can answer all your questions!

Gary.

Rich,
THis is from his site

In many cases unless you seriously destroyed the trans, like it sounds like nuts and bolts rattleing around in it, you shouldn't need to replace the hard parts, plus he actually has some upgraded 4l65e hard parts for an extra cost, I believe that is the difference between Gary's price and mine. I got the basic Race rebuild and he got the upgraded hard parts. And As far as a total cost of pulling the trans and doing the job goes, you would need to talk to Frank about that, his prices are based on just the trans rebuild. Again from his site

Re: How much to rebuild 4L60E?

I bought my vig converter from an advertiser on another board that I visit regularly. Frank @ CPT sells converters but I didn't know that ahead of time, he is a distributer for pro-torque (sp?), and he uses the pro-torque (sp?) converters in his cars.

Bought my whole kit from Pro-Built for $500 and change and had a local tranny guy install it for $200.
