how much noise is my stock rear end supose to have?

my stock rear end (1999 camaro SS) seems to make a lot of noise when i'm slowing down or comming to a stop. it doesn't seem to make much noise that we can tell while accelerating or just driving down the road.

changed the fluid, there wasn't much metal on the magnet.

why might it be making noise while i'm decellerating? the rear end is the SS rear, the one without the clutches

well my car was doing that last summer, only when i slow down,
at first the noise was not that annoying, but the more k's i put on the car the louder it got so i took it to a mechanic ( i actually showed it to a few, even asked a lot of guys on here and they told me it was my bearings inside the rear end), so i went and bought the bearings set and while im at it i bought some gears and upgraded from my stock 2.73's to 3.23's since they have to take them out anyways and it wouldn't be any extra labour, car runs excellent now but one thing is now the car is a bit louder at all times but not much but thats due to my richmond gears that i put in ( everyone on here told me that they are a bit louder than others but are strong gears) so i think that's what your problem is (bearings).

how difficult would it be to do myself? does the bearing noise mean that its going to take a dump or is it just a loud rear end?
