How much can my T56 take?

Mods in sig. Going back together soon with a stock T56 that has 37,000 miles on it.
Primary use will be a street car, with a day at the track here and there. It will be driven hard, but I shift it well so I don't think I'm too tough on it.
Opinions on how long it'll last before needing work? Or should I throw some money at it now while it's out and avoid the headache?

Through the $$ at it now. That way you'll have piece of mind that you'll get another 40k or 50k out of it.

Re: How much can my T56 take?

I just blew mine up. Shop says my T56 is busted, every gear grinds. I have a stock engine with a 100 shot of juice with a street twin and 12 bolt, I guess the weak link broke.

I'm having t56rebuilds.com do a 700rwhp handling setup for around 1000-1500, depending on the damage.

$1000-$1500 doesn't sound bad if yours has been blown up.
Does anybody have feedback on T56rebuilds.com?
I'm considering D+D if I do it 'cause they're somewhat local for me here in Mi.

I'll give you feedback on them within a week, they are picking up my trans tomorrow for the rebuild. I talked to them on the phone they seem like they know what they are doing.

Are you upgrading the mainshaft? that's what breaks, you need a stronger viper shaft.

Re: How much can my T56 take?

Have 33K on mine and it's on it's way out. doesn't like to down shift into 2nd, grinds occasionaly when in mild driving, some vibration in the shfter (rotational vibration, bent shaft) bushing in tail shaft is gone.

Will also be doing a T56 Rebuild in july.
