how to lock trans in third on dyno??
how to lock trans in third on dyno??
i just ordered the tunercat software to dynotune my car and the last time i dynoed it kept shifting down to second from third wich made me have to run the car up high in third and i would miss peak torque. anyways how can i lock it in third cause tunercat wont allow u to do that??
Re: how to lock trans in third on dyno??
locking the torque convertor and keeping the car in 3rd are two different things.
How low could you start the run. If you bring the car up to speed so that it doesn't stall when you punch it you can still start at a relatively low RPM. kinda hard to explain but if you think about it..
2300rpm can be 35mph stalling way up and still acclerating OR
2300rpm can be 45mph with no stall left..
Its sorta the same feeling you have going up a hill verses just rolling at a constant speed.

I don't know about Tunercat but I edited the 3-2 shift in the 'Shift point vs MPH' table, and in the 'WOT shift MPH' table also with LT1_Edit to shift at 255 mph @ 100% TPS and left the rest of the table as it was. Can you do that with Tunercat? Of course you'll need to re-flash the correct settings after the dyno run.
