How hard to put 7.5 axle tubes on a 8.8 or 8.5?

Hey guys I want a stronger rearend for my 95 formula. I was thinking that I could just put the axle tubes from the 7.5 on to either a 8.5 or 8.8. First is this possible? Second how hard is this? How much do you think it would cost to have someone do this? What is involved in this? I know someone that is a good welde, could i do the rest my self? Also how many splines are the 7.5 axles. Is it eaier to do this on a 8.5 or 8.8? Which one would be better to use? If i put the axle tubes on either one, is it a direct fit besides the torque arm mount?

thanks
Tom
