How to flush/replace clutch fluid

I went to the track a couple weeks ago and had some clutch problems. The clutch pedal stayed on the floor after launch, I think it overheated because it smelled like a hot burning clutch. I thought I had fried it. A friend and I just looked at the clutch fluid and it was black and nasty (probably original fluid with 81,XXX miles on it.) After it cooled for a few hours it drove fine again so I think my clutch is still intact but would flushing the fluid prevent overheating of the clutch?

How do I flush it?
What do I want to replace it with (isn't it some type of brake fluid?)
and
How do I put the new in?

the resevoir is in the driverside, near the hinge of the hood. it's a small plastic cup like thing.

you have to get to the bleeder on the side of the transmission...driverside, about half way up (not easy to get to).

bleed it just like brakes. clutch pedal down, crack bleeder, close bleeder...lift pedal...repeat.

standard DOT 3 brake fluid is what it requires. you can step up to fancier stuff if you want.

sounds to me like its something related to the "drill mod" .....do a search

some usefull clutch info can be found at www.installuniversity.com

Bump for another response.

If it helps I just went through this, bleeding it made it feel slightly better but it still seems to come and go as far as difficulty. Bleeding it was NOT fun.

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=509579 - Further down is a pic of where the bleeder is.

other option is to take it to a shop that has a power bleeder...

if all you want to do is bleed it, than you can use the mity-vac method...carefully.

but to change the fluid...ya gotta crack that valve...which is a PITA to get to.

makes it easier if you pull the trans mount bolts and drop the *** of the trans down as far as you can...every little bit helps!!!
