how do you tell what kind of gears?

how do you tell what kind of gears?

i have a 98 M6 Z28 and do i need series 2 or 3? how do i tell what i have stock?

You can check the RPO codes if you don't think the rear gear has ever been changed. GU2=2.73, GU5=3.23, and GU6=3.42. With your car being an M6, I'd say chances are you have 3.42's which is a 3 series carrier.

When its a M6 they are 98 percent of the time 3.42's and eith er a Torsen or an Auburn.
