How do you learn?
How do you learn?
I bought my car so I could work on it and have a more specific understanding of how cars work. However now rebuilding a 4L60E is peaking my interest, I normally work on computer software/hardware and cars seem very interesting to me.
I was considering buying a used 4L60E, overhaul kit and various parts, a book, and possibly a video.
Does anyone know any good books, or videos that might be helpful. I have never worked on a transmission before. Would it be possible to complete a rebuild on my own, or am I doomed to fail due to lack of technical knowledge?

Re: How do you learn?
get a manual and video...its actually not THAT complicated...i've helped with a couple rebuilds and i can at the very least identify all the parts and where they go if not actually bolt the tranny together myself....there's a lot of stuff in there but it goes together in a pretty logical way. the only time it really gets difficult is when u start dealing with the stuff down in the bottom of the tranny (the valvebody and electronics and stuff) but that isn't part of a nromal rebuild anyway.
get a junkyard tranny and pull it apart its actually interesting to see how it all works.
