How did this happen?!?

I was under my car this weekend installing some subframe connectors and swapping out my driveshafts, when I noticed that my torque arm looked a little funny. I looked closer and it's bent, pretty badly near the top. It wasn't like this when I got under it to drain the oil when I did my head swap a couple weeks ago. There are no signs of anything hitting it (bent at the top anyway) and the car hasn't been through anything out of the ordinary. It's bent at a 30 degree angle along it's axis, and twisted upwards with a huge kink at the top (it was rubbing the trans tunnel).

Any idea how this could have happened?? The entire rear suspension is aftermarket except for the torque arm and axle itself. Never ran drag radials or have taken it to the strip. I did notice my traction still sucks *** though, but less now that I swapped out torque arms.

WTF?!?
