How can i visualy tell if a 700R4 has a 'kickdown'?

I found a tranny really cheap that i can buy local. But the owner dosnt know if it has the kickdown.

The 700r4 that i have right now has it, and i hate it....i cant give it more than 1/4 throttle in 4th gear of it downshifts. Not all of the 700r4's were like this.

I dont wanna buy this tranny if it's like mine, but is there any way to tell a difference?

If anyone can reply to this before tomorrow around 4, I'd really appreciate it...then i can go look at the tranny before i buy it.

EDIT: The tranny is from a 1988 Trans Am
The owner dosnt seem to know anything at all.
Is it possible that it's not even a 700r4?....maybe a th350 or 4l60?

the 4L60 came out in 93 in the newer style camaros and then in 94 they switched it out to electronic. the 4L60, 4L60E, and 700R4 are bearly identical and as far as i know they all had a kickdown valves and cables or used the computer for that (4L60E). i think only a few of the early 3rd gens came with th350s/th400s. if you really want to make your tranny not downshift than take a trip up to 8000ft elevation wyoming, your car runs like crap and your tranny never wants to downshift

I always thought that it was about 50/50 with 3rd gen's on whether or not they had the kickdown valve. I couldnt stand it......i usually wouldnt mind much that this tranny blew, cause i hated it and wanted one that dosnt downshift like that...but right now i have $10 and some change.
