Re: How to....
you're saying the tranny was hard to shift or the clutch pedal was soft?
first off i would check to make sure the tranny was full of fluid, they get hard to shift as the fluid gets low.
then i would bleed the slave. there is a bleed screw on the driver side of the tranny. follow the seam where the bell housing bolts to the tranny and you'll find it. bleed it several times and make sure the resevoir is full every time you pump it.
other than that it's pretty simple to change the slave, mechanically that is. pulling the tranny...that's a different story! but i did it by myself in the driveway with just a jack.
EDIT:
oops...you have an Lt1..not sure how similar they are on the slaves

Re: How to....
What happend is i was hittin 5k and i put in the clutch to shift and...nothign happened its stayed engauged and i had to yank it out of 1st in the tranny really hard. then it was a royal bitch to get it into any gears, i barely made it home
Re: How to....
No bleed screw on a LT1 setup. Check the fluid reservoir for your clutch. If you suspect your master/slave is bad, GM sells the entire system with fluid already installed. The slave unbolts from the bell housing with 2 bolts. The master cylinder unbolts from the firewall with 2 nuts and a U-shaped bolt; there's also a clip that needs to be removed from the plunger rod that passes through the firewall. Lastly you disconnect the reservoir from the firewall. It's straight forward, just hard to reach the nuts for the master cylinder as they're up behind the brake master cylinder.
