Help! what size stall do I need????
Help! what size stall do I need????
My car is show and cruise only. It has a comp cam 224/236@114-.555/.565 and slp 3.42's (stock were 2.73). My car wants to jump forward when shifting from park to drive (rpms @1000 in park and 800 in drive) will a stall help??? If, so what size??? My mods are in my sig. (the nitrous is not used, show only). Also, my car rarely see's the highway. BTW, My car has LT-1 EDIT programming. Thanks for the help and suggestions, Troy.

I'm a huge fan of the Vigilante...check out www.converter.com talk to their tech dept and they'll help you with the right converter for your combo/needs...

Re: Help! what size stall do I need????
If your not going to beat on it then theres no need to spend the money for a vigi or a yank. They are very nice, high quality parts but you could get a good stall for what your doing for about half what they cost.
TCI makes a very good stall converter that won,t break the bank.
I have a 4000 stall Coan going in my car soon with a TH400 which might be a little much for you, I would stick with a 3000 to 3200 stall.

Re: Help! what size stall do I need????
I was thinking on going with a TCI breakout or a b&m holeshot 2800-3000 lock-up. What do you think. Also, do I need to do any reprogramming for the stall converter? Thanks.
Re: Help! what size stall do I need????
If it's not trying to be the fastest thing on the street then the TCI should do the trick. If you just wanna stop the surge the TCI 2400 will do it for less than 250$. No need to go all out if this isnt a track car. If you want to really improve those E.T.s then get a Vig or Yank.
Re: Help! what size stall do I need????
I subscribe to the "do it once, do it right" theory...this is one area not to skimp on at all...After 10 years my Vig has paid for itself over and over....TCI or B&M aren't even in the same league at all. I've driven cars with both...Nothing drives and/or races like a good quality converter...
