HELP --> Very bad vibration with LT1 M6

Ok guys help me diagnose this vibration

1997 SS six speed
spec billet steel flywheel
ram stg 3 powergrip clutch

1. Motor was put back in car with stock resurfaced flywheel and Ram stg 1 clutch, car made too much power and clutch would not hold (but there was NO vibration at this point only slippage at high RPM)
2. Switched to Ram powergrip stg 3 kit (left stock fw in) and that is when vibrations started.
3. We thought it was the stock flywheel giving probelems so we switched to a Spec billet flywheel (using stg 3), probelem is still there
4. ALOT of vibration is transmitted through the pedal at least untill you depress it the 1st inch or so
5. ALOT of vibration transmitted through the entire car while rolling or sitting still

some notes:
6. Engine rotating was balanced to zero, spent alot of $$ making sure so
7. using stock dampner
8. Spec flywheel came with a counterweight on it, some shops are telling us that is the probelem wtf?

Personally I beleive it has something to do with the Ram pressure plate/disk and release mechanism. How could a zero balance rotating asy and zero balance brand new flywheel cause a vibration? Is there something that could be wrong with the throwout bearing becaue ALOT of vibration is transmitted through the pedal?

Not all that familliar with LT1 style clutches/release mechanisms so give it your best shot. My LS1 Ram stg 3 kit went in with no problems last week.

any opinions appreciated! thanks!

If I had to venture a guess, I would say clutch disc too. If you go chronologiclly backwards, that is the last thing you replaced before the vibration started. Anyway you can swap discs again and see if it follow the disc? I know it sucks, but it might help find the problem.

I wonder if its the disk or pressure plate?

The RAM stage 1 pressure plate and disk were taken off and then a RAM stage 3 disk and pressure plate was installed to the same stock flywheel (only 100 miles or so since resurfacing)

Then the vibrations started. We then replaced the flywheel with a spec billet steel unit, and re-installed the Stage 3 RAM components.

He sold the Stage 1, and threw the stock stuff out, so we dont have a disk to try.

But the pedal vibration leads me to beleive it could be something in the release mechanism. Dont LT1 clutches come with the throwout bearing attatched to the pressure plate? Maybe something is screwed up there? What about that fork that slides over the TO bearing, is there any other little parts in that area that could cause an issue?

Guess I would start by visually inspecting the parts and re torquing the PP to specs. Then give it a try and see how it feels.
