HELP!..TRUE or Random BS

I just install a energy suspension transmission mount in my 2000 SS w/ a T56 M6

I heard that have a basically stock car and this tran mount can cause problems??

like breaking motor mounts? Breaking tail housing or From the vibrations... killing the rear seal in the tranny??

and of this true??

I do notice more vibrations and It has only been in the car a few hours??

Should I stick with the stock mount???

Yes...well for me it was...

I broke two bellhousings ....cracked from one side all the way to the other.

I would say it happend because I had the stock engine mounts . the ES trans mount has a bars inside that lock up under load...making it damn near solid...and without good engine mounts the trans twists at the bellhousing...and the tail shaft is locked down...so there goes the bell housing

I would say a true 1LE......but they dont make them anymore

Re: HELP!..TRUE or Random BS

You will get a little bit more vibes from the poly mount, but you won't have any problems with breaking parts or ripping apart seals. There may have been less than a handful guys on this board that may have had an issue after installing the poly mount, but I wouldn't let that stop you from using it. I have 2 LT1 Z28's one has just the poly tranny mount while the other has EVERY bushing in the car poly. I have had no issues whatsoever and none of the other guys in my area with 4th gen f-bodies (around 25) have had issues.

Got 2 LS1 cars here with poly trans mounts with no problems other than the vibrations transmitted due to the stiffer materials.

Re: HELP!..TRUE or Random BS

So I guess it is really a vibration issue not really your gong to break anything with the poly trnny mount.

Thanks for the input.

Still not sure I like it...

THIS SOUNDS WIERD BUT THE CAR IS LOUDER WITH THE POLY MOUNT....

The poly mount is fine. I used it on my 94 Z28 396ci LT1 on a T-56 with no problems besides increased vibration.

The reason that the car sounds louder is that vibrations that were alreay there but dampened are now brieg transmitted to the body where the sheet metal is acting like a speaker/amplifier.
Some will say that the poly mount makes their car vibrate but it doesn't, it just makes it so that you can hear/feel the vibrations that are already there.
