Help please

I am thinking about trading for a 95 LT1 z28, but it has a transmission problem, this is how the owner decribes, please let me know if you know what would be wrong and what it would take to repair

Thanks in advance

"I havn't driven it much because of this problem.. but this is exactly how it
is. You start it up and shift into drive.. Tap the gas, it shifts into
gear.. Once its in gear its all ***** as long as you want.. but once you let
off it and the torque lets off the transmission its gone.. you must stop,
put it in park.. shift back into drive. Your fine again.. At higher speeds,
if you floor it.. which requires a few gear downshift, it will not shift..
goes right into neutral again. Soo I don't really think its slippin'.. The
tranny fluid looks great really but whatever it is needs to be fixed before
it can be driven."

Forgot to add this, he says the engine has 200 miles since rebuild, and this is some of what was done

The motor is LT1 with 550 comp cam.. 1.6 roller rockers.. uhm, I have a list of stuff.. I had a friend do it for me, it sounds mean. Anyway.. It has a 4L60E and a 3500 Stall.

Strange Performabuilt hasn't nailed this yet but I'd say the worst you'd have to do is get another tranny from the junk yard and swap it. That should be around $500-$600 installed but check around, don't go by my figures.
