Help! New Clutch Installation, what am I missing?
I am trying to put a new clutch in my 95 3.4 Camaro.
I put it in this weekend, put everything back together, and it didnt work. The clutch was not getting enough throw, its like I needed another inch of travel on the pedal, but it was on the floor... plus the pedal is very soft.
I thought maybe the throw out bearing is not seated right, so I took it all back down tonight to check it. Seemed ok, but double checked it again and put most of it back together. This time I didnt hook up driveshaft and all that stuff, just tried the pedal... same problem.
Now I am exhausted and clueless.
I tried bleeding the release cylinder according to Haynes (I know, but its all I have...) Is there a better method, could it really have air in it, I didnt open the hydraulic lines at all...
What am I missing? I REALLY dont want to take the transmission out again.
Is there a way to get more throw out of my pedal. (At rest it is slightly(~1") closer to the floor than the brake pedal.)
Any advice or ideas will be greatly appreciated...
Im gonna go eat something and pass out for tonight....
