Help with my 4L60E upgrade

Okay, I currently have 1,300 dollars. My A4 has lost 3rd and 4th gear.

A shop has quoted me 900 dollars for a basic 4L60E rebuild.

However a performance build would probably be a better idea, since I am going to beat down on this tranny. What kind of parts would be good to put in?

I only have 1,500 to spend total including install. So instead of buying stock parts for the rebuild I'd like to put in heavy duty parts.

Also will a shop generally give me a good price on parts? Or would supplying my own be a better idea? Or would they **** me by charging an outrageous price since I am supplying my own parts?

I just want the best performance to cost ratio for my daily driver 95' LT1 Formula. I know you guys have experiance, and I want to learn from it. Please share your tips, and beliefs.

Call and talk to Dana.

I spent $750 ($500 on parts, $250 on labor) and his kit is good up to around 550 ft lbs.

Pull it and reinstall it yourself and use that money for the tranny build itself. Its not that hard to do if you can swing the space and the tools, I would much rather R&R a tranny than install LT headers and I have done both.
Just something to think about if you can get the space for a week or so.
