Help me plan my next rebuild

I just pulled a Chevy 350 out of a conversion van,1991.
Not sure if it's a 2 or 4 bolt block.
I would like some bang for the buck recommendations on heads, manifolds, valve train etc.
I plan on using forged parts for the bottom end..both crank, rods, and pistons.
I would like to do most of the work myself..I enjoy building engines.
I intend to farm out the machine work obviously, but looking for the best performance possible without spending a fortune.
This will be used in a 1971 Monte Carlo project.
Thanks.

Re: Help me plan my next rebuild

Couple problems....

-this is the Drivetrain forum, for questions about clutch, transmission, rear axle etc. Engine questions are answered in the "engine" forums.

-this is a Camaro/F-Body site, not a general Chevrolet site. I would suggest you ask questions regarding a truck-sourced SBC into a Monte Carlo on a more appropriate site.

Go back and edit your post to say 71 Camaro.
