Help ID my gears..

I was given a set of 3.73 gears and was told they were Jeg's gears for 3 series carrier. I then opened the box and found a Jegs order sheet saying they are the part number for the 2 series carrier. Has anyone ever gotten an exact width/thinkness of the ring gear (top of the teeth to the mounting bolt edge), or know where I can decipher the GM number on the side of the ring gear?

Stamped to the side of the ring gear is < GM 14030329 11:41 >
I know that the 11:41 is the tooth count for each gear, and I looked up a lot of gear part numbers and this looks like an OEM GM part number, so I am thinking Motive Gears.. I put an email out to Motive to see if that could cross reference it for me but you know how long that might take...

I am also planning on calling Jegs again later today, I called over the weekend when I got them and told the guy:
I recently bought part number 555-60010. Well, I took them to a buddies place to compare them to his new 555-60009's and I think we mixed them up, can you tell me which one is mine? The ring gear I have in front of me has GM 14030329 11:41 stamped on the side..
He told me to call back today and that could call the manufacturer and get back to me, again you know how long that may take...

So do we have measurments or does anyone have information off the side of their gears?

Thanks,
John

Re: Help ID my gears..

Appreciate the try but, that doesn't answer the question above, unless I didn't read how I could figure out what series rear I had the gears for by his measuring of the carrier...

It was actually that post that made me ask the question
Has anyone ever gotten an exact width/thinkness of the ring gear (top of the teeth to the mounting bolt edge)...?
Because he measured the carrier, and I don't see how that helps me...

You can always measure yours w/ the gears you have.

I did, mine are 1 15/16" thick at the thickest point but where does that put me? Knowing that 2 series = 5 1/4" and 3 series = 4 7/8" from the end means nothing unless you know what it is suposed to end up being.

I did however get a responce from Motive Gears they said:
Those are OE GM gears, and they would be for a 3.23 and up carrier...

So if anyone searches for the same thing now you have your answer...

My mistake. Today wasn't a good day for me to try to read anything.
