HELP! Driveshaft will not come out of tranny!
Ok, here's the situation:
I was at the track with slicks on the car and dumped the clutch at 5000 rpm. The car hooked and bent the TQ arm severely. Now the driveshaft is stuck in the transmission. It is about 3/4" out from where it normally rides (on the street). It will not come out or go back in. Tried using a ratchet strap to pull it out and it won't go. It won't go in that way either. What could be causing this? Any suggestions as to how to get it out without damaging anything?

Well, got the yoke out. The splines in the yoke were twisted slightly-maybe not even .030". Looks like the splines on the output shaft of the T56 are fine, but don't know for sure. The driveshaft is a custom made 3" mild steel unit, but the yoke was the factory piece that came off the stock steel shaft. Hopefully the tranny is fine and all I need is a yoke!
