help diagnose please..

hey everyone, i drive a 97 z28 camaro with a 6 spd.. the car itself has 140k on it but i bought an engine/tranny combo on ebay injan that was supposed to have 70k miles on it total with a rebuilt tranny .. well im thinking that i just got shafted!!
i was driving home and i took 1st gear to about 4k then went to shift and it wouldnt let me shift.. i pulled over, stopped held the clutch down and went through all the gears slowly, it was kinda rough but i was able to get through each one.. on the way home everything was fine except coming from a dead stop really shook the car.. i finally got home and pull into my driveway and it finally gave in, i couldnt get in any gear until i turned the car off put it in 1st then turned it on then the car started shaking and i making noises (from the tranny) and i could smell something burning up..
im pissed!! anyone have a hunch to what it could be??
thanks in advance

My hunch would be the clutch is toast.

LOL after watching some TV show the other night that was giving the estimates of inocent people in prisons in the USA I would be afraid lol.
Good luck solving your issue but it does sound like a clutch problem. And to have it fixed if it is that depending on what it is and where you go 400 to 700 dollars would be typical.
