has anyone used the hurst TH350 conversion kit
please help if anyone has used the hurst TH350 conversion kit let me know because i cannot get the torque arm mount (bushings) to line up with any of the holes. i have been messing with it all day.
Re: has anyone used the hurst TH350 conversion kit
I assume you mean the two metal-backed rubber mounts with grooves formed into them, that bolt to the main bracket?
The Hurst kit has alot more holes than the B&M kit. So, there is a possibility that even though you've been at it for a while, you haven't tried the correct combination of holes.
However, it's more likely you have the wrong mounts. If this is on a Camaro, you might have 200-R4 mounts instead of a 700R4, or vice versa.
I need more information to be any more help.

Re: has anyone used the hurst TH350 conversion kit
If your talking about Summit part# HUU-5500001 and I know you are..
The kit is nowhere near desighned for the 4L60E. It's intended for thirdgen owners that want to swap in a TH-350 where a 200/700-R4 came stock.
If you want a TH350 in your TA, then you'll need to buy a BMR crossmember and probably a SPOHN torque arm.

Re: has anyone used the hurst TH350 conversion kit
no that isnt the part that i have the part #is 550-0001 and go on the jegs web site and u will see it. the more i look at it i think i can make it work but 2 of the hole i have to drill out because none of the bolts they sent fit these holes, and the third one just isnt there so i have to drill it as well.
Re: has anyone used the hurst TH350 conversion kit
actually the summit one is similar to what i have bit not exactly. u say it is designed for the third gen i thought i have heard of people using it on the fourth gens, and i also thought that the 700R4 is the same as the 4L60E the only difference is that the 4L60E has a computer.
Re: has anyone used the hurst TH350 conversion kit
Yes, my link was not working correctly, so I edited it. It now matches the part you've bought.
Bottom line?
You bought a kit that never was, nor ever will be, desighned for what you want to do.
Again, you will need a BMR crossmember and a SPOHN torque arm, as I don't know that you have the experience to fabricate your own.
The 700-R4 and the 4L.. the.. same?
Gotta go, head hurts.

Re: has anyone used the hurst TH350 conversion kit
thank you for your honesty i like that blunt that is the way i am, but anyway i just thought it would work because i assumed that the 7ooR4 and the 4L60E were the same other than the computer. oops that is what i get for assuming. i have modified the cross member to fit the TH350 already so now i need the ta to mount to the body.
Re: has anyone used the hurst TH350 conversion kit
the TH350 is in thanks to the cutting wheel a drill and well paid for welder. there wasnt anyhting ghetto about this fab. it does take time and alot of thinking but it can be done. if i were to do it it again i would do like Bone Daddy said buy th sphon or mac torqure arm. my starter was acting up before the tranny swap and it took a crap on me. if it isnt one thing its another.
