Hanging in 1st and 2nd way to long

Hanging in 1st and 2nd way to long
When ever i full throttle ill get up to about 5000 RPMS and it will stick there for about 5-6 seconds... then finally shift.. same thing in 2nd
Is this normal or is there something wrong i have a A4 and i'm wondering if this is a easy fix or if it's normal.
