grrrrrr 700r4 swap done, won't shift at WOT

I bought a rebuilt 700r4 (my 4l60's clutch packs were pretty much gone) and a 2100 stall TC to go with it. We put it in this weekend (pretty straight forward swap. Had to move over all the electric crap for the speedo and reverse lights n stuff...dipstick wouldn't bolt into place and a couple other minor things but we got it taken care of). So, it works, shifts at the right times and very firm. But the problem is, at WOT (or even like 3/4 throttle) It just won't shift. it will just go all the way up and bump the rev limiter in every gear. I was going to get a trans-go shift kit to convert it to full manual, and work in a way to put in a hurst or b&m shifter (which is why I wanted a 700r4 in there in the first place) but I'm not sure if it will shift when I move the lever or not. I don't know if theres not enough line pressure or too much or what. Anyone know if when its converted to full manual if the shifter will actually make it change gears? Is there something I can do to get WOT shifting until then? BTW, yes, the tv cable is set right. But even on the softer settings it still won't shift at WOT. I tried my light weight governor and the heavier one that came w/ the tranny, didn't make a difference.

Just to clarify your tv settings. At idel compare your tv cable's unhooked line pressure and hooked up line pressure, with the cable hooked up it should only be 5 psi higher than unhooked. Then you need to make sure that the plunger has full travel meaning the plunger should be buried in its hole at WOT.

The next thing to check is the govenor. My governor was screwed so they sent me a new one. The old one looked like it had been polished by a monkey with a corse grinding wheel. I suspect the fluid was bleeding between the different sections which was causing it to not upshift when held in first and manually shifted into second. It works like a dream with the new govenor.

Are you certain is isn't just slipping when under heavy load?
