general T56 swap question

I have 2 friends, 1 with a 2001 M6 Z/28 and one with a 95 Mustang GT. The guy with the Z/28 is selling his T56 tranny and the guy with the mustang would like to put it in his GT.

Anyone know what would be involved with this swap?

Not sure what kinda mods would be required, but if it helps some one I used to know had a T56 in his 97 Mustang Cobra.

I highly doubt that it would work. There is a website that makes swap kits for newer mustangs D&Dperformance.com I think. But there are small differences between a camaro T56 and cobra T56. Probably on the input shaft (length) and you would need a bell housing that would work.

There might be a way, but as far as I know they are too different to swap. Like you cant swap and LT1 and LS1 T56.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll check out that website.

I honestly wanna know why the guy with the Z is gonna lose the T56 I've heard about the possibilty of going to a richmond tranny though. Ahh who knows.

Thanks again guys.

It's www.ddperformance.com for the website. Sorry about that.
