Gears or new Rear?
Gears or new Rear?
Getting the Spec 3 clutch in today, now looking at either putting in 4.10 gears, or buying a Moser rear with 4.10's. Now I heard the moser or Strange Rear are very noisey. Whos got one for their Ls1 and who also has 4.10 gears on a stock rear with an after market clutch? Any and all input would be helpful.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Gears or new Rear?
Well... When I had 4.10's in my stock rear they were very noisey. The 4.10's in my 12 bolt are dead quiet. The noise is all in the set-up. I spent 900 dollars trying to beef up my 10 bolt...It blew up anyways.
Re: Gears or new Rear?
I think it depends on wether or not you are going to run sticky tires or not.
If you are, then I don't think the stock rear will last long behind 342 RWHP and a Spec stage 3 on slicks or drag radials. If you're just planning on highway blasts and things like that, you should be fine with the stock rear.

thanks guys, I think the Moser rear would be best, I dont want to spend all that money on my stock rear and have that go. But if I just got the gears for the stock rear, I could also put in a nice cam...
