gears

Could someone tell me the performance difference between the stock 3:42's on my 2002 Z28 and a possible upgrade to 3:73's?

Also, how does it affect gas mileage?

Thanks

From what I have read, both on here and in mags, if you have the m6 and the 3.4's that go along with them you should go straight to 4.10's. The auto's supposedly benefit the most from the 3.73.

Exactly. Going from 3.42's to 3.73's in a M6 would be such a minimal gain it's hardly worth the time and expense. I'd either keep the 3.42's or go straight to 4.10's. With 6 gears your gas mileage is not gonna jump up much anyway and the gain in SOTP and at the track will be far more noticeable.

Good luck
