Question Garage won't install LS1 shaft - too short for LT1

Hi folks

took the car to the shop to have a lot of work done all at one time. They just called and said that the LS1 aluminum driveshaft is about a half inch shorter than the old LT1 steel one and they recommend that that I don't use it.

I thought I read here that the newere shafts -were- shorter but that it didn't pose a problem.

Can someone please confirm this for me? I have an Auto tranny, if that makes any difference. I need confirmation tonight so I can tell them which shaft to install tomorrow morning before our big trip.

Thanks in advance,
Rusty

I've never heard of the LS1 DS being shorter than the standard steel one. About a billion folks on this board are using the LS1 DS though, so I doubt you'll have an issue with the length, but I bet it's the same...
