Ford 9" with a detroit locker-ez to remove?

I will proceed this with saying I am not very familiar with rears. I am semi aware through reading the pros and cons of each. I am entertaining the idea of buying a nice 02 ws6 with a Strange 9" with said detroit locker.

My research tells me that a detroit locker is not for me given I want a nice street machine and possibly something to play around in some autox events eventually. I have read about these things being noisy, locking/unlocking in tight turns etc. Not something that sounds appealing.

IIRC one advantage to Ford 9" is its easy to swap the differential housing. So if I got this car is it an easy swap to ditch the locker for a limited slip setup?

Depends on the spline count on the axles.... I believe they only make a limited slip for the 9-inch up to 31-splines. Over that I think you are into the locker or a spool.

It fairly easy to pull the center section on a 9-inch. But the torque arm mount on the 3rd and 4th Gens slows things down.
