I blew my clutch a few days ago while taking my 95 z28 for a "spirited" drive. I was getting on the freeway and went to hit 3rd gear when I definately found myself not being able to use any gear. pulled off the freeway to find that it wouldnt go into gear with the engine on. basically, it feels like the only way to shift is push the clutch in and it still feels as if I am trying to shift w/o the clutch! well, I ordered a RAM HDX clutch and was wondering if they were any opinions on this clutch, I got a killer deal on it and couldnt refuse at the time however can be returned if I find that I have a better option. Also, I am thinking that my stock flywheel is going to be damaged. I was wondering if I should hope that turning it will make it alright? If not does anyone have any idea where to get a stock flywheel for a decent price? I apologize for the long message but I want my car back and running and cant wait to drive it again!!!!

 

most likely it's jus the clutch disc that is bad, and the flywheel probably has some heat spots on it. resurfacing it should take care of all that.

 

thats what I was thinking, however my mechanical advisor(aka dad) said I might be better off buying a stock replacement to play it safe. any opinions or reviews on the RAM hdx clutch???????

I have it and love it. My friend was commenting the other day that his H/C LT1 Z didn't grab 4th as hard as my car. We run the same gears and have identical dyno graphs. He runs a SPEC stage 4.

 

thanks that is a great confidence builder. I was a little concerned earlier that I bought a clutch that wouldnt hold up the the mods that are going in currently
