Flywheel grinding?

I had my transmission rebuilt recently (A4). The day I picked ity up from the shop, the flywheel would grind on the starter opening. It was not the up and down movement, where you can shim the starter to move it farther away, but a front and back movement of the flywheel itself. I checked it and it was bolted tightly and not loose, but whenever I give more than 50% throttle from a dead stop or I'm cruising from a 50+roll and give it enough gas to downshift, I can hear the grind. At this point, I have even grinded some of the starter housing to try and give it more room but it still does it. ANy ideas, as I am concerned that it may catch and stick and cause some major damage to either the tranny or engine. Any input would be greatly appreciated,
