floor opening for M6

doing an A4 > M6 conv. Wondering if anyone could be so kind as to post a pic of their M6 opening for reference so I can cut mine out. I assume they are all the same (the hole location....all years) but mine is 94 in case that matters. Thanks!!

I haven't got a pic handy, but when you cut it, it goes partially through the opening for the cable going through the floor. I assume that you have the factory rubber piece that seals the tunnel off to prevent fumes coming in? If you set it down you will see where it fits into the car properly. I made a template out of a cereal box for the shape of the ring, so I could transfer that to my car and knew it would be a perfect fit as it fit the rubber perfectly to begin with.... cut once deal. We also welded in a piece of the old metal we cut out into the partial hole left behind.

I took a couple pics of mine in the finished position to help you reference it. Not sure how much help it will be to you. I should've taken pics during the install... send me a pm with your email and I will send these over for you.

That's how I did mine. Used cardboard for a template, then traced the bottom the the shifter boot. I used a pic of the stock hole for reference as to where it should sit. The boot on mine covered up the A4 shifter hole almost completely, and I didn't weld a piece in there because that's where I ran the wires for the reverse lights.

go in his pics archive and search through... its an extensive build up and shows the pics of the process. it will be a bit of a bitch going through them all to find the pics but it will be well worth it.
