EXTEREMELY BAD shifting problem

so, this has happened many times and I pray that someone can give me an explanation. When I am racing and go for the 2-3 shift as I put it in gear and let out of the clutch there is an extremely violent wheel hop action, or seems like wheel hop at least. I thought maybe I was accieently putting it in first so I got a pro 5.0 shifter. that helped but this still happens on occasion. as a result I shift like a pansy and am paranoid I am going to blow the car up as a whole! what do you guys think??

any noise during wheel hop?

Maybe Bushings or Trans mount? Have you been under the car lately to check things out?

Re: EXTEREMELY BAD shifting problem

gonna be under it this weekend for sfc's and lca's. I am thinking that its a trany mount or torque arm mount now. time for a new one ;p this kick/crazy shaking comes from the back and just makes the world end for me. it just feels like an explosion of wheel hop. gonna have to take a look underneath again though

I have experienced that a couple times when I missed the second to third shift and hit first instead. If that's what happened to you, you're right its just about the worst sound in the world.

If you hit first you would know it, trust me. It probably is just wheel hop from the hard shift.

BradcTA, how do you like the sound of your exhaust with the bullet? I have a 3 in catback right now with a flowmaster single chamber and am about to install pacesetter LT. It is pretty loud as it sits and I was just wondering if I switched to a bullet would it be any quieter or at least less drone?

It will be a little quieter. It my experience the bullet deletes the bad tones of the exhaust and amplifies the good deep ones. Sounds great on my car. Has annoying popping between shifts and engine braking though..
