electrical connector on top of 700r4 tranny

I just replaced the transmission in my car and on top of the transmission there was an electrical connection with probably 4 prongs, I couldn't get it to clamp on like it did on the one I had in there, I tried using my air compressor to blow it out, but at any rate, the car seems to run ok, but it seems to rev up to 2,000 rpms before it shifts, shifts good, and it doesn't seem to want to jump into second when I kick down on it while driving, it slowly accelerates in 3rd it seems, any ideas? I think the connection had some stuff in it, but being the transmission is in the car now, and I didn't find out it wouldn't go in until after I had it in the car, I'm kinda screwed..

Thanks.
