Eaton Diff

If i were to install a new Differential (eaton) would it come set up for ABS and TCS? Or do i have to buy the ring gears for both?

If you have ABS and TCS then you do not have a sensor in your diff.. In other words you would just install the diff into your rear.. Plus I hope this information help you with the other thread you have going...

Re: Eaton Diff

i thought there was a ring gear attached to the differential that controlls the sensors for ABS and TCS?

Im still not sure why my ABS INOP light no longer comes on...i know its not the lignt or a fuse though.

I assume by you saying you know it is not the light that means you see it come on when you first start the car and does the light check?? If not then why do you say it's not the light?

Also why would your ABS INOP ligh come on? are you having trouble with it? That light shouldn't come on unless your ABS is broke, ABS INOP (INOPreative)...

Lets hear why you think the light should be on??

Re: Eaton Diff

because someone along the way told me that ABS INOP meant - in operation...i guess someone dropped the ball...

and also because before my big bang...whenver ABS came on...so did that light...

Re: Eaton Diff

ABS is always on.. Are you refering to when it was actually pulsing the brakes under hard braking? then I would say go out and drive about 20+ MPH and nail the brakes it it pulses then it works, and the big bang fixed it... If the Brakes lock up in that test then the ABS system doesn't work right...

BTW, I have been driving f-bodies as daily drivers for about 7 years and only activated the ABS twice, activated meaning hit the brakes hard enough to pulse the brakes...

What happens? the ABS pulses or it locks up? if it pulses and the ABS INOP light doesn't come on then you are good to go...

BTW, I remeber a few years back my ABS INOP light came on a few times in sandy/gravel roads, I think that is just a problem with it reading the wheel speed diferently in those conditions...

Seriously though, if that light doesn't come on then you should be fine, Just make sure the ABS actually works...

Good luck.
