Angry ??? driveshaft won't come out

I am trying to drop the DS on my car to replace the pinion/yoke seal, but the DS won't drop. I have the car up on jacks, do I need to jack up the rear end itself to get the DS to drop out? I was trying to push it forward a little bit so it would drop out the back, but it seems wedged in there pretty good. Any advice? Should I jack up the rear end under the differential, or should it just drop out when it is on jack stands? BTW the jackstans are not on the rear end itself. I am trying to be caustios so nothing gets damaged
