The aluminum shafts used in 1988 F-bodies are stronger than the thin-wall cardboard-damped ones used in the later fourth gens. You did well.

Are the Spicers in it even loose? I'd run it if it seems solid.

That's good to know! I picked it up on Ebay, and it looks like brand new. The joints didn't seem bad, but I replaced them anyway, and they are A LOT easier to change than the nylon injected ones!
