Do I need the paddle kit?

I want to put 4.10 gears in my car, and I have heard that if you have the zexel you need the paddle kit for it to work properly without any grinding. I guess my question really is, do I even need this paddle kit concidering I do not have the zexel??? I have the auburn rear diff.

Also, what would be the advantages of having a solid pinion spacer vs. crush collar???

Thanks.....

You shouldn't have a problem with an auburn. The zexel is a pain, but its not even needed with that. We simply gound off a bit of the gear and it slipped right in. I can't say with 100% certainty, but when I replaced the broken zexel with an open v6 diff, everything cleared fine.

I have no idea about the 'paddle kit' your talking about but do recommend the solid pinion spacer. It won't 'crush' after the setup of gears is set like a crush collar can under extreme conditions. My rear has lasted longer with the solid spacer this time with more mods/stickier tires than the first set of 3.73s with a crush collar.
