Which differental is better?

The perevious owner of my car had to replace the entire rearend in my '99 Z28 and for some reason put a rear out of an LT1 car in it. Now it has an Auburn diff. in it. I got the original rearend from him, (the axle tube was bent) and got the original Torsen diff. out of it. Should I keep the Auburn diff. in my car or have the Torsen reinstalled?

Torsen for the street for sure. Don't have to worry about clutches wearing out.
That's what I have.

I would go with the Torsen as well. Exactly how pooman put it, no clutches to wear out.

Are you running a stock car or is it modified? Only reason I ask is that if you plan on doing a lot of racing, you may want to upgrade rearends as well.

I'm gonna eventually upgrade the rearend but I have some other issues to address first. I'll probably just run the Auburn til I bust the gears and the put a new set in with the Torsen.

well if you bust gears with the Auburn, you will bust gears with the Torsen.

IMO, if that is your plan, run the auburn, sell the Torsen, and use the money to get a larger rearend 8.5 atleast.

Does anyone make an 8.5 for F-Bodies or would I have to find a Mustang one and have it fabricated to fit?
