I have never ever seen this asked or discussed. Not being a smart ***, but it does get warm.

If its getting HOT! there is something wrong. it should not even get that warm on a cold day.

where are u checking the temp? the cover?

try getting it hot again and check the area close to the axle tubes and the front of the pinion near the yolk. but from the way your describing it you have a problem

its not red hot but its def over 100 degrees, it gets hot on the diff cover, and the bottom of the differential. not as hot on the axle tubes.

If you really think there's a problem after a long drive pull the fill plug and insert themometer in oil. If its 175 or below no worries as this is what a cool running transmission runs at.
