Diff cover

Just curious about something...

i just bought a used 3.42 gear lim slip rear out of a 97 ss for use in my 95 Z.
I saw that Thunderracing sells a diff cover...just wondering if that really does help increase the strength of the 10-bolt or not. I gotta take the cover off when i get the axle anyway, but i was just curious if an aftermarket cover would help or not. That and the cover costs more than i paid for the axle...lol!

Thanks!

Re: Diff cover

I have been running a TA cover for years on my 3.73 geared 10 bolt and I have to believe its helped my rear last longer. I do have an auto car and they are much more forgiving on the rear than a six speed.
I have been cutting 1.8 1.9 sixty foots on Nitto drag radials for over 2 years.

So in my opinion yes go ahead and pick up the cover.
