ok, I am looking to pick up a 98/99 z-28 with fairly high milage for between 6-7k. I intend on running it on orig motor trans and rear for a few mths and then, after gettin some cash gathered, getting to work on it. I am not sure which route I am going to travel.. still trying to figure out what route will be the best. It will be a 6-spd (autos are no fun!). I am either going to purchase a z06 crate and replace the ls1 with that or I am going to stroke to a 402. Again, not sure what way I am going to go. I am wondering.. what will the stock trans and rear take. From what I gather the stock rear in F-bodys is just crap. I figure with the milage already being high on the trans it will go regardless, should i bother getting a rebuild done on it or will i be looking to just replace the thing? Also, what do you recommend I replace the rear with? Please give me any and all advice you guys have on this situation! thanks a lot~

befor u replace the motor do all the basic bolt ons. as far as a rear buy a 12bolt it will cost u about 2 grand

I see in your sig that you have a 98 stroked. Can you elaborate on what all you have done to it and what its stroked to? Also if you have run times for it as well as any dyno results would you be so kind as to share those as well? Thanks
