CPT offering $100 discount on "Race" and "Pro Race" 700/4L60E's through August.

We're very happy about being in our new shop, and have decided to share our great fortune with all the CZ board members. From now until the end of August, we're giving $100 off either of our top of the line "Race" or "Pro Race" 700 and 4L60E's. This knocks the Race transmissions down to $900 + hard parts (if any), and the Pro Race 4L60E down to $1300 + hard parts (if any), and the Pro Race 700 down to $1200 + hard parts (if any).
If anyone needs anymore information about our products, they can check the link in my signature.

Thank You,
Frank Cahall

great, please see my post today and contact me. forget what I said about my desire to get local warranty on labor, maybe I should R&R your good work ! does the problem I noted indicate a need for Hard parts?
also, DHL shipping (92109) looks like about $100 each way, sound right?
thanks in advance

Guys, this is already a great deal without the discount. Frank is a terrific person to deal with, and his transmissions are awesome! Its well worth the trouble of having to ship the transmission to him.

will one of your tranny's hold up to around 600hp. Right now I'm at 489rwhp on a cam and a 150 shot. And the clutch packs are gone in my 2000 dollar pro built limited street 4l60e. I've had it about a little over a year now. I'm looking to slap heads on it soon and then go through the motor and add a turbo. You think you got something for this or is it really just pissin in the wind with this tranny.

Yes, without a doubt. We have many of them in that neighborhood now.

Pro Built? Please tell me you didn't have a vacuum modulator installed. We have to go a few extra steps to fix that huge mistake.

Don't ever be afraid of a PROPERLY built 4L60E.

Thanks,
Frank

Will one of your race built trannies hold up to the weight of my Impala. I have learned over the years that the 4L60E in my car is the weakest link. At 4400lbs the tranny doesn't like it too much. I know you had PM'ed me about building one for me but I think you would die if you saw all the crap that has been done inside the valveboddy of mine. The tranny has been apart and rebuilt 6 times. Even had vaccum modulator at one time and it burned up the wiring harness inside the trans. Mine is a mess. Doing ok for now but is not a matter of if just a matter of when it will explode agian. The biggest problem I always seem to have is the slam shifts at light throttle. My tranny builder is one of my best friends and I have always felt obligated to give him a chance but all the money I have spent I could have had it done right the first time and still be money ahead.

Yes, we can build them to hold up in higher HP Impalas. I believe I mentioned in my PM that we have them behind 396 Golen motors in Impalas. That's alot of torque and weight.

Would you mind dropping some names or peoples cars I can look at. This isn't a knock on you so much as it is me being wary of putting another one of these things in my car and having it go out on me again.

Yes it had a vacuum modulator on it.

How long do your tranny's hold up to abuse. I know it is a wear item but at a level of 600rwhp how long do you think a 4l60e could last? I don't want to be dropping 2grand on a trans every 5 thousand miles.

Re: CPT offering $100 discount on "Race" and "Pro Race" 700/4L60E's through August.

I can name drop at least one, but he got out of the game a while back. Look up stuff by RacinLT1 (Dirk Harrington) he was running 11.0's with a CPT tranny for a couple years. I don't have the dudes name but there is a supercharged LS1 car that has a CPT tranny running 10's...

Hey Frank you need to reach out to those faster guys to get on your website. I think the fastest 4l60e on there is Dirk's. Sorry mine is slow and messing up you curve, maybe after I do some more work I can be in that 10 second list...

Re: CPT offering $100 discount on "Race" and "Pro Race" 700/4L60E's through August.

Yes, John...I'm trying to get pictures from them. Kevin Hedges supercharged LS1 car is running bottom 10.9's. He's spraying it with a 50 shot the next time out.

Dirks car went over 2 years running 11.0 @ 124 MPH before it finally broke an output shaft. This was before we had access to the 4L65E output shafts that we use now in our "Pro Race" units. Broken output shafts won't be an issue now.

We have 4L60E's pulling 1.48 60 ft. times with the front wheels a foot in the air.

$2000??? I don't charge near that much. I can forwarn you that we'll need to put an EPC solenoid back on it, and eliminate the vacuum modulator screw up. That arrangement just doesn't work or last. I still can't understand anyone using one if they have any concept of how a 4L60E works.

You can expect much more than 5000 miles out of one of ours. We just build a better transmission than anyone else out there. Your transmission has 2 things that destroyed it...A vacuum modulator and a Trans Go shift kit. We want them to last, so we don't use either. We give a 6 month warranty on parts, and a year on labor. We also offer a extended 2 year "freshen up" service. For that time, we charge $250 + parts to update/repair anything. It's certainly cheaper than a complete new rebuild.

BTW, Dana may have used SOME good parts in your transmission. If there are good parts we would normally have to buy, I'll knock that off your total...IE good boost valve, sun shell, etc.

Thanks,
Frank

so knowing whats in mine how much do you think a rebuild would run me. To hold what I have now (489rwhp) and then add on my heads and a mid sized turbo. I'll be looking for 600-650 at the tires.

I can't be 100% certain of what's in yours now. A new EPC will add $45 to the $1300 (with discount) "Pro Race" rebuild. "The Beast" sun shell (which I hope it has) will deduct $45. I do know that Pro built doesn't use the better (billet) 2nd, and 4th servos that we do, but I can usually reuse the Trans Go .500" boost valve, which will deduct $20. I'll help you in whatever way I can, but remember, I'm following behind someone who uses antiquated building procedures.

Thanks,
Frank
