Converters too loose, Can I kick it into 4th gear down the 1/4?

Converters too loose, Can I kick it into 4th gear down the 1/4?
Ok Im in a bad situation right now, Im finding out my converter is way too loose and its a non lock up. 
I at this time dont have time to pull it out but I will in a month or so. If im spraying the car can I go into OD or is that going to kill me? I was told that it wont go from 3rd to OD in WOT? Is this correct?
