Clutch reservoir line all full of holes... how to replace?
Pretty much as the title says, the line going from my reservoir to the master, has a bunch of holes in it. How you ask? Well, about a year ago, my vehicle had mice chew on the wires in that area, so it had to go back to the stealership for a lot of work. There was no way I was going inbetween the firewall and shock tower to replace a dozen or more wires and my comprehensive covered a good chunk of the near $1000 bill, of which only 30 dollars was parts. Well all the electronics still work, but the doofs never replaced the hose which had/has holes in it. I never looked (the car has been in storage for pretty much all the time since the repair and is completely driveable) until today when I added some DOT 3 to the reservoir and it ended up on my feet
. Car is still driveable, but the reason I went to look is that the clutch felt different than I remembered, and sure enough it would with no hydraulic fluid!
Ok, so how do I get in there and replace the hose? I didnt do much investigating, since I found the holes about a half hour before dark, but where does that hose lead to. I am hoping that I dont have to take off the brake master cyl to get at the back of the clutch/firewall. Who has been in there? Can you help me with a good way to get in there? I really want to avoid the fight with my insurance company and stealership to try and make them fix this too, but I will have to if its too much work. No chance of access from the interior?
